Myprotherapies offers a fully flexible remote placement option, allowing you to accumulate hours for your course requirements and professional development.
We’ve done it before, while a therapy/counselling placement may be new to you, we’ve been doing this for three years (2025). Meaning we can anticipate your needs, communicate with courses and support you with regard to client queries and administrative needs.
Payment - Through Myprotherapies you have the opportunity to begin accumulating income.
-
Your pay is calculated on a donation only basis.
The £15 base fee charged per appointment is used to pay for the following:
Software/It Costs (domain, webhosting sms, email, scheduling)
Orgnisational memberships (bacp, ICO)
Marketing (social media management, google ads, guerilla marketing)
Admin staff living wage (senior clinical staff members for risk/safeguarding/clinical queries, administartive staff members)
Donations vary dramatically, we have paid out to placement staff £40 - £600 monthly directly from clients in the past.
-
We require you to make available a minimumn of 6 hours per week, and a maximum of 12 hours. This does not mean we expect you to begin seeing 6 weekly clients with us from the start, however we do require a base level of capacity.
These hours can be chosen by yourself when you upload your availbility, we advise to spread your availability, in order for ease of booking, and to allow adequate reflection between appointments.
-
We advise all of our trainees to inform clients at the start of their first appointment that through out their sessions with yourself, any one call may be recorded for the sole use of assessing competence, these may be transcribed, and will be anonymised with pseudonyms.
-
We have direct lines for risk and safeguarding queries or concerns as they emerge in session. For risk/safeguarding concerns, you will use the subject header ‘RISK/SAFEGUARDING’ and email direct: contact@myprotherapies.co.uk
We are not a crisis service, and due to the nature of our organisation and the requirements of placements, take a zero tolerance approach to suicidality.
You will have a line of contact for managing any clinical concerns and should a requirement to control risk/safeguarding be present, your client will be reffered onward by management to appropriate services, and you will no longer continue working with them.
-
Admin / Senior Clinical Staff will be available around the clock at contact@myprotherapies.co.uk to help with any queries or concerns.
You may also book check ins with management on an ad-hoc basis by emailing contact@myprotherapies.co.uk with your availability, for a 20 minute slot.

It is essential you are individually insured. As a professional, be it in training or when fully qualified and established in practice, it is always vital to ensure you protect yourself. There are multiple insurance providers who offer student psychotherapy/counselling professional indemnity insurance, it is your responsibility to ensure you have this in place prior to seeing your first client.
-
You will be expected to manage your practice as a professional. This will mean you are repsonsible for outcome measures, being punctual and timely, prepared and professional at all times. We reserve the right to audit your clinical notes at any time to check for quality/assurance.
We are aware that as trainees your practice is in development and account for this in our expectations.
However, if we have reason to believe there is mispractice (i.e., repeated mistakes of a similar nature with no evidence of adaptation/adjustment), or professional poor etiquette (incomplete notes, constant lateness), we will provide warning, and reserve the right to terminate your placment.
-
We understand as your placement provider we are not your final destination, we offer a clear, headed and signed reference on completion of your hours with us attesting to your practice.
Equally, through out your time with us, we understand that a professional contact point in the industry is not just about the hours, but also the exposure to more experienced professionals.
We have had trainees proceed into the NHS and into private healthcare, remote/face to face, with inpatient and outpatient populations, and understand the differing requirments of these routes, and what opportunities for further qualification/professional development exist beyond your time with us.
